I have a mini chopper style scooter/moped and the engine has no spark. I rode this thing for a while, it ran great; one day the wires that run from the fuse by the charging input/batter into the motor just started to burn, and they burnt apart and burnt off the rubber coating on the wires. What seems to be the problem with the motor? I may just purchase a new 49cc engine if its a big problem. thanks

The same thing happened on one that I had in high school. The mechanic I took it to said that some water got inside the battery and caused it to spike, frying the whole electrical system. It wasn’t a big deal but I took the opportunity to get a new moped.
