other than that its fine

Or do I need to have a full driving licence, take any tests, get a special licence while in the USA?

I intend to buy a scooter/moped 125cc to travel around the town. Mainly no bigger than 6 miles. Anyone that knows what there talking about please can you give me some advise. i.e

no M1. what is the limit that the m2 rating will give you terms of power of the scooter/moped?
